The Internet has a great search system. Google, Yahoo and Msn do an excellent job of helping us find everything from soup to nuts from billions of facts. However when it comes to the search term TRANSSEXUAL or Transexual as many mispell it, the search engines just don't have a true concept of what the word truley means. The search engines use Transsexual as a synonoym for SHEMALE. While some are trying to save money for the operation most will not have or want SRS and can't be considered Transsexual (yet they advertise that they are) It would take a bite out of their economic bread and butter. Sure there are Transsexuals who can't have surgery for economic, medical and other reasons but they would like to have the surgery if they could.

There are actually a few hundred Transsexual sites out there that provide some kind of support. Try and find them in the search engines though. A search for the words Transsexual or Transexual find only 3 support sites in the first 50 entries. Try a search for Support sites for the keywords: Transgender or Crossdressers. Its a little better but lots of sex sites. Transexuality is not about sex or chicks with something extra. Its about gender and its conflict with the gender we were born with.

Transsexuals have a preop suicide rate of between 31% to 50%. More have at least thought about it or attempted it. Another estimate puts it as 9 times above the average suicide rate. We need support and information not sex sites. If you are a suicidal Transgendered person looking for help you will go through hundreds of pages in the search engines to find it. Unfortunately it won't be right at your fingertips which I thought a search engine was suppossed to do.

Laura's Playground is a free Support site for Transsexuals, Transgendered, Crossdressers, Intersex, and androgynous both Mtf's and Ftms and their families. We provide weekly support meetings in Live chat. We are the only Transsexual site to have trained moderators skilled in suicide prevention. By 2006 all moderators will have completed the course. This of course makes us the number one Transgender Support Site in the world. Again try and find our site that is actually necesary for some. You'll find us listed on page 53 in Google under Transsexual or is that Transexual. Depends on your spelling I guess.

We do this as a Free Volunteer Community Service and we don't have the money to do pay for click services like the Shemale Sex sites do. WE ARE NOT a sex site. If we were, we'd be listed in the first 50 pages under Transsexual along with the other non support sex sites. Blame it on ignorance of Transexuality. Will the search engines ever learn the difference. Lets hope so.
