You've
just visited a beautiful Transgendered Resource site. You've picked
up a wealth of information about your condition and you thought
your were alone. You've read the forums and chatted a little bit
with people just like you. Your favorite place though was the links
with all those beautiful home pages. You think to yourself, I can
do that.
Then you think about it and say: "Well I'd like to but it probably
cost a lot. Besides what do I get out of it anyway"?"
Well the answers are surprising. What does it cost? What if I told
you that you could set up a Transgendered site, complete with forums,
blog and a chat room for the grand total of $00.00. That's right,
free. As to why do it, how about therapy. That's right therapy.
Most of our transgendered lives we learn how to keep our true selves
hidden in order to survive. We have tons of emotions built up ready
to explode its way out of us. Other then coming out the single best
way to express ourselves is by writing . A web site allows us to
come out and remain annonymous. Its also a great place to store
the fruits of our creative work. It would take a therapist months
of
costly probing of our minds to get even close to what a web site
will give you in a week. Think of the money you'll save on mind
shrinking.
The first thing that happens is an immeadiate boost to your battered
self esteem. You get to add the title of WebMaster or WebMistress
to your line of accomplishments. You are the master of your domain
should you decide to get one that is. You are emerging like a butterfly
from its cocoon and look how beautiful you are.
There are a ton of freehosting sites out there and this is where
your search engine becomes your best friend. Next search for free
forums
and chatrooms
and don't forget the Guest
Book. Geo
Cities and Tripod
are probably the most popular hosting networks out there. The good
news is they can grow with you as your site does.
They also have software to help you get started designing your site.
When your done, write to other Transgender Sites and ask them to
link to you. You of course though have to provide the same courtesy
to them. Remember since your hosting is free and you don't have
your own domain name many search engines won't list your site. You'll
have to upgrade for that, but you can do that later if you want
to. One place to get listed and get a lot of traffic first is Susan
Marques Transgendered Directory. In fact this is where
you'll start to see the limits of your site as you'll run out of
bandwidth daily for the first few days.
When designing your site, develop the theme you'll use. Try to make
it something unique to you. Don't make your site just about pictures
either. You are more than that. Write at least a couple of articles
and add a link page and a blog
or journal page.
If you have bigger plans for an ad free site that you can submit
to the search engines, then you'll need a domain
name and a site with more storage and bandwidth. Upgrade
your forums and chat room and you'll have an ad-free site with a
recognizable name. Next join a web
ring.
So if your really looking to start a Transgendered web site, go
for it. Come on in the water's fine and the rewards can be plentiful.
Personally I'd rather see some real worthwhile informative Transgendered
sites then even one more sex site, wouldn't
you?
