About
Partners And Family

There
is a lot of Misinformation out there about TransFolk. Even the language
and terminology have changed and shifted. The Trans umbrella has confused
a lot of people including TransFolk.
There are fetishists, transvestites, crossdressers, non-op transsexuals,
pre-op transsexuals, post-ops, shemales and dozens of terms across
the Transgender spectrum. Of course each term represents totally different
outcomes that would effect you.
As a Partner or family member try to read only the articles that pertain
to you. Otherwise it will get even more confusing. If you're the wife
of a Crossdresser for instance, then articles about Transsexuals won't
help you.
This section is for the wives, partners and Family members of crossdressers
and transsexuals. Its aim is to provide you with support and information
about your loved ones condition. The fact that you're even here determines
how much you truly care. After all despite your loved ones pain, you
are hurting to.
While it may seem to you that your loved one suddenly developed his
Trans behavior suddenly, or even over one particular incident that
is usually not the case. In most cases this has been with them since
childhood or teenage years. Its also possible that they were born
with it, especially in the case of transsexuals. Many TransFolk binge
and purge throughout their lives, thinking that the behavior was done
with. This may be why you were never told.
Please don't blame yourself this condition was there long before you
knew them. It is not your fault and certainly not theirs. Do take
it seriously however. Transgendered folks and especially Transsexuals
have the highest incidence of suicide of any group. Remember that
this is a highly charged time for both of you. There really are steps
you can both take to deal with the problem. Compromise is essential.
We hope to address your concerns and dispel any myths you may have
about Transgendered Folk. If at any time you have a question that
you don't see addressed here ask in the partners forums or chat rooms.

If I
don't have the answer I will refer you to someone who does. There
are also support Sites in the Links section that may help. Remember
that you are not alone. This section has just opened so come back
often to see what's been added.
