Welcome to Laura's Playground. This page will help those who are here for the first time. We are a support site for ALL transgender people. Our main mission is suicide prevention to lower the extremely high rate among us. In addition we hold meetings for each group once a week. If you feel suicidal or overwhelmed enter our chat crisis room for help from a staff moderator certified in youth suicide prevention. You will find that you are not alone. There are many people here that went through exactly what you are going through now. The good news is that we have many success stories here of people who got by their suicidal thoughts. So can you. In addition we also try to keep people from regrets by using the WPATH Transgender Standards of Care. Transition and surgery is not for everyone. Something as life changing as transitioning to another gender and having genital surgery should be talked about with a Gender Therapist. Please see the list for one in your area. No one here will talk you into anything as we cannot diagnose you. Only your Doctor can diagnose you. The AMA and both APA's back the "SOC". Please note that Transsexuality is a medical condition and is present from birth. It is not a choice as some would have you believe. This site is very interactive. The playground concept here, refers to those going through a second puberty and are transitioning. Some things need to be relearned all over again. Many new social skills will be learned on the Playground. Most members will grow here in the most positive of ways. Predators should be aware that we guard our teens well here.
