You
could win a weekend stay at the historic Lakeway Hotel in Meade,
Kansas and at the same time show your support for the fair treatment
of your neighbors in southwest Kansas!
Despite what people outside of Kansas might think, a lot of
us who live in the Sunflower State know that there are many
other Kansans who believe in the right for all Kansans to express
themselves freely and to live without fear of discrimination.
Kansas Equality Coalition is the state wide organization formed
in October 2005 by a group of fair minded people who are determined
to end discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender
identity and expression. Earlier this year a group of your neighbors
met in Dodge City and made the decision to form a chapter of
KEC out here. KEC Southwest now consists of over 30 members
living in various southwest counties: Clark, Comanche, Finney,
Ford, Grant, Gray, Hodgeman, Kiowa, Meade & Stafford. If
you share our vision for a Kansas free from discrimination,
we would also like you to become a member.
KEC supports the innkeepers of the Lakeway Hotel in Meade, Kansas,
for standing up to discrimination by continuing to fly a rainbow
flag despite a backlash by some in that community. KEC Southwest
will be having our monthly chapter meeting at the Lakeway Hotel
on Sunday August 13th at 4pm. Please join us then or at 5pm
for supper at the Lakeway. Come buy yourself dinner at Lakeway
to show your support for other fair minded Kansans and KEC.
Come to learn more about KEC and join up. Come buy a $5 raffle
ticket for your chance to win two nights in the Queen Suite
of the Lakeway, including breakfast served in your room, a $180
value. If you can’t make the meeting or supper on the 13th but
want to get your name in the raffle, you can send your $5 into
KEC Southwest at PO Box 1432 in Dodge City. We will draw the
winning name after supper and you do not need to be present
to win. If you have questions or need more information you can
contact Anne at 620-635-5213 or through the KEC
Website .
