The online meetings can be really helpful :) Relapses sometimes happen, but you just got to keep on going. Like Brenda said... one day at a time. I've been sober 60 days now. It hasn't been easy, but I did it. And it does actually get easier the longer I go.

I do not know what happened tonight, but I would not despair hon :)
AA meetings are going on all the time, in every town. You may want to consider going to a live AA meeting instead of an online one. Things like this need real people and you could need to find a sponsor, which can only happen with a real, live AA meeting. Churches and Hospitals are great sources to find out when and where are live AA meetings are being held.
Love you

Hey :P Find a sponsor honestly, this helped me. Before you take a drink call the sponsor and ask them if they think it's a good idea; simply having to go through this process will pretty much affirm that it is NOT a good idea; and if that doesn't work talking to the sponsor will. You can usually find AA meetings every night/day around you if you look hard enough and I seriously would recommend this. Don't even skip a day, when you don't feel like going its more important than ever to go! :D You can do this, AA works if you work the steps, one day at a time easy does it...mantras.
Also, online meetings are great, I tried these for a few weeks; but to be totally honest the "pressure" you feel to succeed in a real meeting is much more effective, but this may just be my opinion. Human contact and a strong support system being in place is what this takes.
Sober almost 6 months from alcohol, 11 months from Heroin, and five months from Marjuana here, and still struggling, so don't feel like it'll get better right away, this is a life long challenge but if you do it day by day it honestly works. Just remember, put off the drink until tomorrow; if you feel like having it today say "I'll drink it tomorrow", then do the same thing day after day. Can not stress enough to seriously take it one day at a time.
Best wishes and love,
Nashida
