Dear all,

Religiously, I identify as a Christian Scientist. Granted, I do not follow all of the tenants of the Church.. I will not deny that.

I was reading the "Science and Health" by Mary Baker Eddy (Christian Science founder) and I came across the following quote that I hope helps many.

Quote

The Lamb's wife presents the unity of male and female as no longer two wedded individuals, but as two individual natures in one; and this compounded spiritual individuality reflects God as Father-Mother, not as a corporeal being. In this divinely united spiritual consciousness, there is no impediment to eternal bliss,--- to the perfectibility of God's creation.

This is from page 577 of the "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy.

Here is the link to the book that I am referring to

I hope this helps

Love

Brenda

Unfortunately, on page 341 the author denies the inerrancy of the bible and in multiple cases like on page 343 strips God of sovereignty and denies miracles, which authenticated the deity of Christ.

The Bible is set up so that all of it is true or none of it is true. There's plenty of historical evidence such as the dead sea scrolls that were dated as far back as 200 B.C, Tel Dan inscription, Caiaphas Ossuary, Ketef Hinnom Amulets, House of God Ostracon, Pilate inscription, and with over 24,000 copies that date as early as 30 years after the originals were written.

There are outside writings by Josephus, Tacitcus Suetonius, and Pliny the Younger confirming validity of the events.

In a court room, this is more than enough evidence to convict someone of murder, with the penalty of capital punishment.

Not only that, but to refute the accuracy of the Bible is an attack on all ancient world texts, because none of them even come close to the textual evidence that the Bible provides. For example, Iliad by Homer (which is in 2nd place for textual accuracy), has 643 copies and the earliest copy was dated as far back as 400 B.C, that is 500 years after the original text was written.

I hope this was of some help! If you have questions, feel free to PM me.

Love,
Genie
