Mike....
What a tragedy that has unfolded today.....
I just read the piece....luckily she is ok...so many weren't...
And of course you know that we're only about 20 miles from Zanesville....

So much useless killing today.....
I'm in shock over it...

LOVE & HUGGS

Just heard on Fox News from the Commanding General at Ft Hood, that the shooter is still alive and is expected to live. My military logic ??? says the reason they have been reporting him dead is to wait & see if anything else was going to jump off.

USELESS

If you are going to commit suicide that way, point the gun at yourself first, not others...

To ruin you soul my senslessly murdering others is such a tragedy.

And each victim - a hundred people at least, directly affected...

Travesty!!!

My thoughts and prayers go out to those that lost their lives and those injured in this tragedy, and to their families and friends.

I have absolutely nothing good to say about this entire situation, it was a senseless loss of life for no reason and its aftermath will no doubt include an uprising of fear/hate against all Muslims because of this one deranged shooter.

We did not have a backlash against Eagle Scouts after the shootings at the University of Texas back in the late sixties but this will be considered an act of terrorism although it is most likely an unbalanced individual.

A terrorist could have used a bomb and gotten even more people but no one will think of that just fear, hate and escalate.

And all too soon the victims will be forgotten and life will go back to its usual routine with a slightly larger hole in our collective soul and a little bit more suspicion and hate.

I wish that I could offer a happier note but there is no good side to this sort of tragedy.

The heroes that went back into the building to pull the living victims to safety are the only bright spot - thinking of others above themselves but they too will soon be forgotten probably much quicker than the gunman.

A sad commentary on the human condition.

Love ya,
Sally

I've been reading about the brave young civilian police officer who faced off with the madman in a gun battle and prevailed, while taking bullets to
both legs herself. She was also a shooting instructor. She did herself proud with that action and deserves the label "hero" that is so loosely applied
to almost anyone these days.

I am also so impressed with the community in and around Fort Hood. There were so many people in line to give blood they had to turn some away.
Tragedy brings out the best in us all. If only it didn't take such tragedies to see it happen.

My prayers and good wishes are with the families of the fallen and the wounded. Lets hope the military can do a better job in the future of
spotting such troubled souls before they can act out. It does seem like there were a lot of warning signs with this guy.
